当电源线或负载因某种异常而发生短路时,短路保护功能通过停止运行来防止过电流流过。在TCKE800/805/812系列中,如果在很短的时间内输出电流为限制电流(ILIM)的1.6倍,则判断输出短路,此功能运行。

东芝的eFuse IC使用高速运行的短路保护电路(快速跳闸功能)。
上图显示了模拟快速跳闸功能的工作波形(*)。
仿真结果表明,在发生短路后的150ns(典型值),电流被抑制至接近零。
