在IEC61000-4-2（触点）的ESD抗扰度试验中，施加ESD的瞬时电压被称为第一峰值脉冲电压。电压越高，对后续电路的影响越大（ESD造成损坏或故障）。通过安装TVS二极管（ESD保护二极管），第一峰值脉冲电压可以保持在较低的水平，且ESD耐受能力得以提高。
东芝的DF2BxM5系列（EAP-V）通过优化工艺，与DF2BxM4系列（EAP-IV）相比，第一峰值脉冲电压降低了约50%。低电容TVS二极管采用最低的第一峰值脉冲电压实现了高的ESD保护性能。
