Motor Driving Circuit for Automotive Body Electronics Using SmartMCDTM

We developed an automotive body motor control circuit that supports sensorless vector control using SmartMCDTM, a gate driver IC with a built-in microcontroller. This reference design provides explanations of design points of various circuits, design data, and usage methods.

Features

  • Compact system is realized by using SmartMCDTM which has an integrated MCU with a built-in vector engine and various peripheral circuits.
  • Sensorless vector control of 3-phase brushless motors with built-in MCU
  • Outline size: 130 mm x 73 mm
  • An external inverter board that can be used on top of the main board for driving high-current motors is also available.
