Toshiba Electronic Devices & Storage Corporation responded to the major earthquakes that occurred off the coast of the Noto Peninsula on January 1 by establishing an emergency task force at its headquarters in Kawasaki, Japan. The first concern is the safety of our employees and their families, and beyond that the wellbeing of the local community in the affected area. We continue to assess the damage to our production facility, and will provide updates as soon as they become available.

Status of Toshiba’s Group Companies’ facilities in Ishikawa area

  • The safety of all employees, full-time and temporary, has been confirmed.
  • We have confirmed that there is no damage to buildings that could affect the resumption of operations.
  • There was extensive damage to the exhaust pipes in the clean rooms, and we are prioritizing their repair.
  • We are continuing to urgently check the status of the production lines, and aim to restore partial production on January 10.
  • We will release more information on the resumption schedule once it is confirmed.
