Toshiba Electronic Devices & Storage Corporation responded to the major earthquakes that occurred off the coast of Kyushu on January 22 by establishing an emergency task force at its headquarters in Kawasaki, Japan. We continue to assess damage to our production facilities, and to provide regular updates on progress.

Impact and status affected by the earthquakes as of 15:00 today is as follows.

Status of Toshiba’s Group Companies’ facilities in Kyushu area

Japan Semiconductor Inc. Oita Operations (Oita City, Oita Pref., Japan, semiconductor production)

  • Wafer input resumed on February 14, as reported in Updates 4 and 5.
  • Full pre-earthquake production levels were restored today, earlier than our previous estimate of the end of the second week of March.
  • We greatly appreciate the immense understanding and support extended to us by our customers, partner companies and all those affected by this incident.
